Disney Demands Website Shutdown After Post Questions Kimmel's Humor
Press Release | Published May 7, 2026
In an unprecedented move that has sent shockwaves through the digital world, The Walt Disney Company has reportedly demanded the immediate shutdown of the free speech advocacy website, FreeSpeechAtlas.com. The demand comes after the website published a blog post titled, "Jimmy Kimmel, Free Speech, and the Surprising Silence of ABC/Disney," in which the author controversially claimed that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel "is not funny."
A source from within Disney, who wished to remain anonymous to avoid being turned into a CGI character in the next Marvel movie, stated, "The allegation that Mr. Kimmel lacks a sense of humor is a direct assault on the core values of this company. We have a contractual obligation to ensure all our comedians are perceived as hilarious. This is a matter of brand integrity."
Legal experts are baffled, noting that opinions on comedy are subjective and protected under the First Amendment. However, the leaked Disney memo allegedly reads, "Freedom of speech does not cover the freedom to be wrong about comedy. We have spreadsheets and focus group data to prove Mr. Kimmel's humor quotient is well above the industry standard."
The team at Free Speech Atlas has responded by directing Disney to The American Press and the First Amendment.
